ROLE

Interaction Designer

YEAR

2017

My tasks were mainly focused on the information architecture of any new screen and the conceptualization of pretty complicated workflows, taking into account any possible corner case before entering the development phase.

As Interaction designer I had the ownership of this field for every project I was involved, so I also participated on aligning the needs and possibilities & presented the proposals for every project which led me to perform some managing tasks.

Some of these big printers come with a sticked tablet which interactions are determinate by its physical position and some of the printer physical components. But there are also certain softwares to send projects to printers from a computer. In my case I have had the opportunity to work in both type of projects as Interaction designer.

When I arrived they were building a design system that would apply to all the upcoming projects within a determinate time lapse.

So I had the opportunity to contribute with some new patterns and behavior libraries, and have it defined in shared documentation across the company.

A very interesting point about working in such a mature company is the usability lab they have, and the importance they give to real users feedback. There I had the chance to elaborate different user tests to confirm and validate design decisions. From these interviews we also gathered relevant information concerning new features or any refinement needed for the already existing ones.
